Eagle Product Inspection has signed up with six channel partners to provide on-the-ground support for customers across the US.

The company has 10 partners in total, including North America, Canada and Mexico. The six firms are; Lakey Packaging, Mid-State Sales & Service, Package Automation Company, PMMR, Solid Design Southeast and Vogel Sales Engineering.

Speaking to FoodProductionDaily at Pack Expo in Las Vegas, Kyle Thomas, strategic business unit (SBU) manager, Eagle Product Inspection said: “This has been a great thing for Eagle and for our customers. These six new channel partners each bring over 20 years’ experience to the market and with it they provide a better local service and sales support.”

Material Discrimination X-ray

Eagle showcase its latest 430 MDX (Material Discrimination X-ray) software at the show, which looks at images that are ‘very busy and hard to determine’ where the contaminants are.

It was originally pioneered for use in the security sector and can discriminate materials by their chemical composition so that historically undetectable inorganic contaminants are detected, such as metal, glass, stone and bone.

It can detect and remove contaminants in mid-sized, packed products with complex density levels such as pre-packed salads, snacks and frozen vegetables.

HACCP certification

The biggest trend in the food industry right now is food safety and customers getting their HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) protocols in place,” said Thomas.

To comply with HACCP guidelines, manufacturers need to monitor their production lines, take any necessary corrective actions and keep accurate documentation records for further reference, he added.

The company opened an R&D center in Germany this year and a customer application center in Florida and changed its logo to include its tagline ‘Quality Assured’, to appeal to a younger market.
